    Acrylic Painting
- Acrylic paint is a water-soluble and fast drying type of paint which contains           pigment suspended in a form of plastic called acrylic resin. Unlike oil paint, acrylic paint dries in        minutes rather than days, which allows an artist to complete a painting much faster -- sometimes        even in a single sitting. Acrylic paints are easy to work with and can achieve a unique look when           combined with gels and glazing liquids.

    Digital Painting
- Digital painting is not done with a canvas and brush, but rather with a                           computer and a tablet pen. Using a program such as Photoshop or GIMP, an artist can create               works with much more detail than traditional paintings. Digital artwork can also achieve the                   most vibrant colors of any medium because there is no need to mix pigments on a computer,               and an artist can choose from a near-infinite selection of colors.

    Oil Painting
- Oil paint is a slow drying type of paint which contains pigment suspended in linseed         oil. It can produce vivid color and can be blended very easily to create extremely subtle                        shading. Although oil paint can take days or weeks to dry, the results are well worth the wait.

    Charcoal
- Charcoal is a form of carbon created from the remains of slowly heated pieces of                   wood. It can be used to quickly create a wide variety of lines as faint or as dark as the artist                   desires. Very subtle shading can be achieved by rubbing charcoal dust onto a piece of paper.

    Pastel
- Pastels are pure pigment combined with varying amounts of a binder to hold the pigment         together, and come in both stick and pencil forms. They produce the most brilliant colors of any         traditional medium and are easily blended together, making them the ideal choice for drawing            realistic portraits.

    Pencil
- Pencils are sticks of graphite and are the most commonly used drawing medium. Very               fine shading and details can be created using several pencils of varying hardness and sharpness.           Graphite has a classic and instantly recognizable look.

    Pen & Ink
- Ink is a type of liquid mixed with pigment, and can be applied to paper with a pen or           brush. Ink pens used in drawing produce rich black lines not achievable with other types of                   media. Using techniques such as cross-hatching or stippling, an artist can use ink pens to create           precise shading reminiscent of etchings and classical illustrations.
